Majestic Mt. Arayat

Majestic Mt. Arayat behind us.
Sometime in 2006, I asked my friend Rechelle who lives in Magalang, to look for a lot for sale. I told her that I wanted to have a farm. She and her friend Joey brought us to this place they called barrio Turu. I haven't been to Turu myself.  But when they showed me the place,  I immediately was captivated not so much by the land but by its vantage point of Mt. Arayat. The land was situated near the foot of Mt. Arayat. From there, Mt. Arayat simply looked majestic! So after all, it was this mountain that chose me.

While I may have been talking about how beautiful my kubo is, all this time,  it is really the view of the mountain that is most spectacular here. The eastern side of my farm provides an unobstructed view of the mountain. From there amidst the green rice paddies rises this majestic icon of Pampanga known as Mt. Arayat.

I was so enamoured by the Mountain, that at first and for a very long time, I wanted my farm to be known as Sinai Farm. Sinai was the biblical mountain where Yahweh, in the Old Testament resided. It is in Sinai where the Israelites had to wait for God to descend and where Moses was to go up to receive the Ten Commandments from God himself. Since I  myself have a masters in Scriptures, it was but natural for me to make a biblical analogy of this majestic mountain.

I also wanted to call my farm Sinai, since Sinai represented God's presence. I wanted my farm to be a place where God's presence is pervasive, just like in Sinai. This mountain was to remind me that indeed this farm was a true gift from God.
